Pierre is an owner and manager of the firm.  Since his admission to the bar in 1991, he has had extensive experience representing businesses and insurers in civil matters.  

Early in his career, his practice involved defense of clients both in personal injury and workers compensation matters. In liability matters, he participated in over 30 trials, including 13 jury trials in state and federal court, and 18 bench trials in state and federal court.  His practice involved defense of automobile, premises liability, slip and fall, trip and fall, falling merchandise and other liability claims.  

Workers’ compensation claims have been a substantial part of his practice throughout his career but has become the bulk of his practice in recent years. He has tried 36 workers’ compensation cases. He has obtained fraud judgments cumulatively ordering reimbursements in excess of $134,000 to clients, in addition to a fraud ruling in a preliminary determination hearing. In the workers’ compensation arena, his practice includes assisting clients in investigation, assessment, defense of claims, pursuit of subrogation and Second Injury Fund recovery.  

Pierre has argued before the Louisiana Supreme Court, in all five Louisiana appellate courts, and is admitted to practice in United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana.  He is currently serving as a District 6 Representative for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.    

He obtained his juris doctorate from Loyola Law School in May 1991 and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in October 1991.  In 1984, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans, and while a member of the UNO Tennis Team, was awarded the Homer L. Hitt Award given for athletic participation and academic excellence.    

He was born as the seventh of nine children and grew up in the Mid-City area of New Orleans.  He and his wife of 29+ years live in Metairie and have three sons. He has helped coach numerous teams his sons have participated in at Pontiff Playground and St. Catherine of Siena School in Metairie, Louisiana.  For hobbies, he plays tennis and loves to fish.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Emily obtained an undergraduate degree from Spring Hill College in 1998.  She graduated from LSU Law School in May 2001 and five months later was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar. 

 

Emily has 21 years of experience in general civil litigation, including insurance defense, premise liability defense, workers’ compensation defense, and maritime law involving personal injury/death litigation, cargo claims, maritime contract disputes, and passenger vessel defense and regulatory issues.

 

She has represented a variety of clients in maritime and general civil litigation, including family businesses New Orleans Steamboat Company and Café Beignet.  She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, Louisiana federal district courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. 

 

Outside of the practice of law, Emily is married and the mother of three children. She enjoys spending her free time with her family, as well as reading, cooking, and gardening. She is also an active volunteer at her children’s schools and in her church community.
